The Warriors women's soccer team wrapped up their 2021 season on a high note defeating the Brock Badgers in their home and home series to finish the season with a 3-3-4 record, good for fourth spot in the OUA West.
On a rainy Friday night in St. Catharines,
Emma MacDonald (Halifax/) scored in the 63rd minute and Morgan berg was solid in net making 7 stops as the Warriors earned the 1-nil victory.
On Sunday, the Warriors took to Warrior Field for the final time and grinded out a very solid 3-1 win over the visiting Badgers. MacDonald was again very solid in the midfield for the Warriors while
Alexa Cimermancic (Kitchener/) (45'),
Isabel Lynch (Oakville/) (47'), and
Jenny Ha (Kitchener/) (57') all found the back of the net for Waterloo. Berg stopped five of six shots she faced including a remarkable stop on a Brock PK to keep it close for the Warriors.
Waterloo, who finished .500 on the season, will take these last two games to build on as they shift their focus to off-season training and getting ready for the 2022 season.
