The Warriors competed at the 2021 OUA Tennis Regional tournament on Saturday and came away with 2 wins and 2 losses with both the men's and women's teams splitting their games with York and Toronto. The winner between the three teams will go on to play in the OUA Championship next week. If Toronto beats York today they will move on to play for the title. If York can upset the Blues, there will be a 3-way tie.Â

Men's Results
The Waterloo Warriors opened the day with a dominant 6-1 victory over the York Lions, winning all three doubles matches and 5-of-6 single matches. Waterloo's
Pavle Milic (Toronto/) won the closest match versus York's Andres Findlay, 8-7 (7-2) in the No. 1 singles position, while second-year standout Alex Bodor earned the Lions lone point of the match, winning the No. 6 singles match, 8-6.

The host Blues went on to edge the Warriors, 4-3, on Saturday night. Michael Chu was Toronto's lone double winner as the commerce major from Richmond, B.C., took the No. 4 singles match 6-3, 6-3 over Waterloo's
Eitan Rozin (Toronto/) and teamed up with Nikola Janev to win the No. 3 doubles match 8-6.

Women's Results

The Waterloo Warriors earned a 5-2 victory over the York Lions in the first match of the day. Warriors rookie
Jana Llorin (Milton/) won the No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-4 over York's Tiffany Showraki and teamed up with Evi Zafris to take the No. 1 doubles match, 8-6. Waterloo's Maddie Alexander also earned two victories in the No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles matches. Rida Khan and Lobna Hassan garnered York's lone points of the match in the No. 2 and No. 4 singles games, respectively.

The host Blues would go on to spoil a Waterloo sweep with a 6-1 victory on Saturday evening. Winnie Choi led the way for U of T with a 6-1, 6-1 victory in the No. 2 spot, while also pairing up with Claudia Poluga to take the No. 1 doubles match 8-3.
