The Warriors mem's volleyball team got their 2020 off to a solid start, beating rivals York Lions 3-1 on the road. With the win Waterloo is now 2-7 on the season and need to stretch together some wins to get back into the playoff race.
After dropping the opening set 25-20, the Warriors rallied to win the next three, 26-24, 27-25, 25-19 to earn the victory.
Returning from injury,
Jacob Nesbitt (Wakefield/) didn't miss a beat, putting away a game high 12 kills on 26 attempts. Nesbitt also added six digs and three blocks.Â
Nolan Spencer (Kitchener/) also in double digits in his attack, with 10 kills while tossing up three service aces. Spencer was also the defensive leader with 10 digs.
Rookie outsider hitter
Noel Campfens (Toronto/) was also solid in the win with nine kills. Setter
Colm Guyn (Lethbridge/) was stellar with 34 assists and five digs.
Waterloo was scheduled to play Nipissing today but due to inclement weather the game has been moved to a later date.
