Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Warriors split weekend set with Trent and Nipissing

Men's volleyball earned a weekend sweep in games with Trent and Nipissing as the Warriors now sit at 3-8 on the season with lots of volleyball left to play.

On Saturday afternoon at the PAC, a pair of outside hitters, second year Nolan Spencer (Kitchener/) and rookie Noel Campfens (Toronto/) were on their game each with 10 kills as Waterloo got past the Trent Excalibur in straight sets (25, 18, 22). Campfens also added two service aces in the win.

Another rookie, Issac Nesbitt (Wakefield/) was also stellar with 10 points on eight kills, one ace and two blocks. Colm Guyn (Lethbridge/) set up the attack with 41 assists while defensively, Jacob Nesbitt (Wakefield/) had eight digs. On Sunday, the Warriors battled Nipissing in their rescheduled game from two weeks ago. The two teams when back and forth all game long before Nipissing registered six of the final seven points to win the fifth set 15-8 and match 3-2.

Nolan Spencer (Kitchener/) was again the offensive leader with 12 kills while Matthew Mawdsley (London/) was an absolute beast at the net with eight blocks. Colm Guyn (Lethbridge/) finished with 29 assists and led the way on his side of the net with 11 digs.

The Warriors will have next weekend off before a busy three weeks with six games begins at Brock on February 7.
