The Warriors scored two goals in the opening frame but Ryerson battled back to send the game in overtime and stole the extra point, defeating the Warriors 3-2.
Scoring for the Warriors was
Taytum Clairmont (Waterloo/), her third of the season and
Courtney Simpson (Sebringville/), her second while
Dollee Meigs (Owen Sound/),
Emma Pye (Oshawa/),
Hannah Street (Shoal Lake/) and
Jenna Hewitt-Kenda (North Vancouver/) all picked up helpers.
In net,
Amanda Smith (Burlington/) was busy turning aside 34 of 37 shots faced while Fanny Vigeant was less busy for her Rams making 18 stops in the win.
Ryerson's Lauren Nicholson scored at 2:08 of the extra frame, cutting into the middle and wristing one past Smith to give her Rams the extra point.
Waterloo fell to 10-5-3 with the win and are in seventh in the ultra-tight OUA standings, just one point back of Nipissing and Queen's for fifth.
Waterloo has the rest of the weekend off before they start a busy February that begins on the road next weekend against UOIT and Queen's.
