The Waterloo men's soccer team opened up their 2018 season with an impressive road victory over Brock on Friday afternoon.
A pair of rookies found the back of the net as Sebastien Guerrieri (66') and
Filip Popovic (Waterloo/)Â (84') both scored in the second half to give Waterloo the 2-0 victory.
Waterloo dominated the match putting up nine shots on target compared to just one for the home side.
Kyle March (Barrie/) picked up his first win with the shutout victory.
On Sunday, the Warriors took to Warrior Field for their home opener and found themselves up against one of the powerhouses in the country, McMaster. Waterloo came out sloppy and surrendered four first half goals. The Warriors managed to clean things up in the second half but couldn't put any balls past McMaster's keeper Tristan Joyce and fell by a score of 4-0.
Waterloo is back on home turf this weekend with a pair of games against Algoma. They will take on the Thunderbirds Saturday at 3:15pm and Sunday at 2:15pm.Â
