Warriors finish fourth at U SPORTS Championship

After a heartbreaking loss in the U SPORTS semifinals to the Winnipeg Wesmen, Waterloo was unable to bounce back in the bronze medal match against UNB, falling by a score of 7-5.

Despite coming away empty handed, the Warriors should be extremely proud of their efforts at the national tournament, finishing on top of the pool play standings, including a win over the eventual gold medal winners, Alberta. Skip John Willsey (Orillia/) finished the championship at 80% while second Zander Elmes (Drumbo/) was very strong at 83%. Rob Currie (Toronto/) operated at 80% while Cameron Blair (Woodbridge/) rounded out a very strong week of curling at 76%.

The Warriors will now hop on a plane early tomorrow morning to get back in time for the annual Athletics Banquet happening tomorrow in Waterloo.
