Warriors first place after 6 draws at U SPORTS Championship

The men's curling team is enjoying incredible success at the 2018 U SPORTS Championship hosted by the University of Alberta in Leduc, Alberta.

After dropping their first match, Waterloo has bounced back with five straight victories including a thrilling 4-3 win over Alberta yesterday morning, stealing one in the extra end and then another extra end win in the evening draw topping OUA rival, Ryerson 6-5. 

Skip John Willsey (Orillia/) is having an outstanding championship curling at 81% while vice Rob Currie (Toronto/) has also been strong at 79%. With their 5-1 record, Waterloo has clinched a spot in the semifinals that will be played tonight at 9:30pm EST. 

The Warriors will first close out their pool play this afternoon against Dalhousie, a big match for the Tigers if they hope to advance as one of the top four teams.
