Warriors wrap up season with loss to Western, play Ryerson in OUA quarter's

The Warriors wrapped up their 2017-18 regular season with a 3-1 loss to the Western Mustangs on Saturday night. The Warriors knew going in they had already locked up the fourth and final playoff spot and couldn't move up in the standings so took the opportunity to play some of their bench players.
After dropping the first set 25-13, Waterloo bounced back in the second to claim the set 25-14. Western then took over winning the next two, 25-16, 25-17 to earn the 3-1 win.

Leading the way for Waterloo was Andew Smondulak and Joel Semplonius (Newcastle/) each with seven kills while Smondulak had three blocks. Jacob Nesbitt (Wakefield/) put away six kills while Trevor Coathup (Ottawa/) had five.

Aman Rakkar (Cambridge/) was sold collecting 26 assists while defensively it was Waylon Chen (Markham/) leading the way with 11 digs.

The 9-8 Warriors will now prepare for their OUA quarter-final matchup with the top-seed Ryerson Rams from the east.

Ryerson finished the season with a 12-6 record and the only match between the two this season was a 3-0 win for the black and gold back on November 25 at the PAC.
