Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Warriors earn must-win game to keep playoff hopes alive

The Warriors women's volleyball team picked up a must-win game on Sunday in St. Catharines sweeping aside the Brock Badgers in straight sets.

Waterloo controlled the tempo from start to finish winning the sets 25-20, 25-21 and 25-16 to earn their seventh win of the season.

With the victory, Waterloo moved to 7-10 making it a three way tie in the OUA west between Waterloo, Guelph and Windsor. The three will fight for the final two playoff spots in the west, each with two games remaining.

Sarina Trasolini (Vancouver/) continued her impressive offence in the match with a game high nine kills. She also picked up 11 digs in the win.

Brooklyn Gallant (Cambridge/) had eight kills while Samantha Warner (Ayr/) put down six to round out Waterloo's attack.

Defensively Sarah Remedios (Ajax/) led all players with 18 digs while Claire Gagne (Cambridge/) saw most of the action at the setter position collecting 27 assits.

Waterloo will now turn their attention to a key match this Tuesday in Windsor against the Lancers. Both at 14 points, the match will more than likely determine who will grab one of the last two playoff spots.
