The Warriors women's volleyball team flexed their No. 8 ranked muscles on Friday night in Thunder Bay, sweeping aside the Lakehead Thunderwolves with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-23.

Female Athlete of the Week Claire Mackenzie (Vancouver/) was big in Waterloo's attack once again, putting down 12 kills while adding two aces for 14 points. Another fifth year, Brooklyn Gallant (Cambridge/) had nine points while Claire Gagne (Cambridge/), Ella Stewart (Ottawa/) and Sarah Glynn (Fredericton/) each had six in the win.

Gagne led the way at the net with three blocks while adding an impressive 30 assists. 

Defensively, Sarah Remedios (Ajax/) was all over the court with a game high 21 digs. Gallant and Mackenzie were also strong defensively, aiding in a solid passing game for the black and gold with 15 and 12 digs respectively. 

Waterloo remains perfect on the season with two road wins to open the season and look to extend it to three tonight with their backend of the doubleheader with Lakehead. Match time is 7pm and can be seen live on oua.tv.
