The Warriors men's volleyball team dropped their home opener on Saturday afternoon in four sets to the Windsor Lancers.
Waterloo got off to a slow start as Windsor cruised past the black and gold 25-13. Waterloo got their legs going in the second and matched Windsor's intensity point for point but the Lancers snuck away with the 25-23 win to take a strangle hold on the match.
Waterloo kept their momentum going into the third set, winning is 25-19 to remain in the match but Windsor pushed back in the fourth, claiming it 25-14 for the 4-1 victory.
A pair of rookies led the way for Waterloo as
Nolan Spencer (Kitchener/) put away 12 kills while
Bennett Newell (Brussels/) had 11.
Matthew Mawdsley (London/) put down eight kills and added three blocks. Setting up the Warriors was
Colm Guyn (Lethbridge/)Â with 27 assists.
Waterloo is back at it today at 2pm against Western at the PAC, in search of their first win of the season.
