Box Score 2 The women's hockey team picked up 4 out of a possible 6 points in their northern road trip which included games against Laurentian and Nipissing.
The Warriors are now 12-7-2 on the season, good for fourth in the OUA with 36 points, just two back of Toronto.
In a rare Friday afternoon contest, the Warriors took out the Laurentian Voyageurs 2-1.
Amy Barnard (Cambridge) and
Carolyn Burke (Mississauga) scored 1:30 a part in the second period and
Taylor Reimer (Morden) did the rest stopping 26 of 27 shots faced for her sixth win of the season.
On Saturday, Waterloo went toe-to-toe with the second best team in the OUA, the Nipissing Lakers but neither team could find the net in regulation.
Kaley Tienhaara potted the winner just 1:19 in to OT to give her Lakers the extra point. Reimer was again steady between the pipes stopping 24 shots.
Waterloo will return to the CIF next weekend for a matchup with the top team in the OUA, Guelph. That game is slated for Sunday at 2:30pm.
