The Brock Badgers scored four unanswered goals, including an empty netter as they skated past the Warriors 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at the CIF.
After winning six straight, Waterloo has now lost their last two, seeing their record fall to 5-1-3-0. Their 17 points have them sitting in sixth spot in the OUA while Brock is in second with 26 points.
It wasn't the outcome
Shaun Reagan had hoped for on a record breaking day for the bench boss as he became the all-time leader in games coaches today, standing behind the bench for his 157th regular season game.
After Brock opened the scoring, the Warriors got the next two tallies from
Angela MacDonald (Kitchener/) and
Dana Fairbarn (Maple/). MacDonald buried a rebound after a
Rachel Marriott (Waterloo/) shot while Fairbarn fired home a knuckle puck from the point that eluded Brock's keeper Jensen Murphy.
Jenna Hewitt-Kenda (North Vancouver/) picked up the helper on Fairbarn's go ahead marker.
The turning point however came quickly after Fairbarn's goal as Annie Berg tied up the game with just 17 seconds left in the second.
Tied at two's at the start of the third, Brock quickly regained their lead as Kiona Tobia put one past
Taylor Reimer (Morden/) just 2:39 into the final frame. Amanda Ieradi provided the insurance marker while Rachel Rochat put one into the empty net to give her team the 5-2 victory.
Reimer and Murphy each made 23 stops in the game.
The Warriors will now prepare for a rare Thursday evening game as they welcome the Laurentian Voyageurs to the CIF this Thursday at 7:30pm. The game can be seen live on OUA.tv.
