Warriors swim team kicks off new year in Guelph

The Warriors swim teams came off the short break into a quick session in Guelph with two close rivals. Waterloo was only able to come third in both the men's and women's meet and showed that some tough preparation will be necessary over the next five weeks heading towards OUA champs in early February in Toronto.

The Warrior men opened the meet with a promising win in the 200 free relay. Other men's winners on the day were Aidan Chow (Aurora) (50 fly); Alex Lujko (50 free) and William Tran (Toronto) (100 fly). The UW women were lead by veteran Josie Andres (Thorndale) who won the 50 fly and posted a couple of swift relay splits. Rookie Lou-Salome Chou (Shanghai) posted another win for the Warriors in the 50 back gaining a reward for her continued focus on all the technical aspects of sprinting.

The Warriors return to the racing pool in two weeks in Toronto.
