The Waterloo men's curling team punched their ticket to the CIS Championship with a 4-3 win over Queen's in the OUA semifinals. Â The Warriors scored a single point on their final shot of the extra end to sink Queen's and head to the finals. Â
Unfortunately Waterloo ran out of steam in the OUA gold medal game, falling to the Laurier Golden Hawks 10-1. Â Waterloo scored the first point but Laurier would get the next 10 and the Warriors would settle for the OUA silver medal.The Warriors will head to Kelwona, B.C. for the CIS Championship from March 20-23. The winning team from the championship will represent Canada at the 2017 Winter Universiade Games, scheduled for Jan. 28-Feb. 8 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
