Box Score The struggles continued for the women's volleyball team in their first home game of 2016 in a straight set loss (19, 22, 17) to the Ryerson Rams. Ryerson improved to 9-1 with the win while Waterloo's slim playoff hopes took a hit as they fell to 4-9.
The Warriors had no answer for outside hitter Veronica Livingston who tallied 19 kills in the match. She also posted six digs and one block. Theanna Vernon was also a go to player for the Rams with 14 kills while setter Emily Betteridge showed why she leads the OUA in assists per set with 38 in the match.
Waterloo relied on two players throughout the match as
Alyson Colpitts (Fredericton) and
Sammie Gwozdz (Waterloo) teamed up for 20 kills.
Kelsey Caza (Waterloo) also had a strong effort with four blocks in the loss while
Kristen Bartmann (Uxbridge) finished with 13 digs.
Waterloo will return to the PAC tomorrow as they battle the Toronto Varsity Blues, again at 6pm. The game can be seen live on OUA.tv.
