Box Score The women's hockey continued their hot streak of late with their third straight win, topping the Queen's Gaels 3-1 in Kingston on Friday night.
The win propels the Warriors (11-5-1) past Nipissing and into a tie for second spot overall with the Western Mustangs, each with 32 points. The loss dropped Queen's to 9-4-2 on the season.
Marissa Redmond (Ajax) led the way with a goal and two assists including a beauty setup on the game winning goal put away by
Paula LaGamba (Toronto).
Redmond moved up to fifth in OUA scoring, now with 16 points (4g, 12a).
Kaitlyn McDonell (Kincardine) also had a stellar game for Waterloo with a goal and an assist including a huge insurance marker late in the third period.
Between the pipes, it was
Rebecca Bouwhuis (Orillia) making 28 saves for the win, her seventh victory of the year.
"We continue to do the right things at both ends of the ice and even when we get down we know we have the offensive power to get back into the game," said head coach
Shaun Reagan. "It was a solid team win against a stingy opponent."
Waterloo will be back in action tomorrow against the UOIT Ridgebacks, a team they have had a lot of success against in the past. Puck drop is set for 7:30pm in Oshawa.
