Warriors swept by Mustangs in road contest

Box Score The women's volleyball team has not got off to the start they had hoped for in 2016 with another tough loss, this time to the Western Mustangs.  Western swept the Warriors in straight sets (21, 18, 21) handing the black and gold their third straight loss.  Overall, Waterloo is now 4-8 on the season while Western improved to 8-2.

Alyson Colpitts (Fredericton) had the most kills for the visitors with seven while Claire Mackenzie (North Vancouver) and Sammie Gwozdz (Waterloo) each had five.  Emily Ibbotson (Cambridge) led the way at the net with three blocks.  Setting up the Warrior attack was Karly Smith (Lockport) who finished with 17 assists.

For Western, it was Aja Gyimah who caused fits for the Warriors all night long with her 12 kills.  She also had six blocks in the win.  Overall it was Western who dominated net play with 25 blocks to just seven for Waterloo. Western also put away 44 kills.

Waterloo will be happy to return to the PAC in front of the new bleachers next Friday and Saturday as they take on the Ryerson Rams and Toronto Varsity Blues.  a
