Box Score The Waterloo women's hockey team could not solve Brock's Jensen Murphy as the Badgers handed the Warriors a 1-0 loss on Sunday afternoon at the CIF Arena.
Laura Neu scored a shorthanded marker at 9:11 of the second frame and that is all the visitors needed to come away with the three points.
Stephanie Sluys (Clinton) was solid in net for the black and gold making 29 of 30 shots while Murphy turned aside all 27 Warrior shots.
Waterloo's best chance came in the opening frame when defender
Michelle Tanel (Toronto) went on the attack and made a nice move to the inside but Murphy kicked out her right leg to keep the game locked at zero's.
The second frame was all Brock as they peppered Sluys with 12 shots, finding the net once. Waterloo could only muster six shots on target in the middle frame.
The Warriors came to life in the final 20 minutes with several quality chances down the stretch but just couldn't get the bounce they needed as time ran out.
The loss drops Waterloo's record to 8-5-1 on the season while Brock improved to 5-8-1.
Waterloo will return to the CIF next weekend for a pair of home games against Laurentian and Nipissing.
