It can be tough to look back at an event that ends in heartbreak. In the case of the Warrior women, losing a game in an extra end due to running out of time would be tough enough, but when that loss costs you a playoff spot, it becomes that much more difficult to swallow.

Starting off the event, the Warriors opening game was against Laurentian University. The team played well, controlling the game throughout. Even when placed in difficult situations, the team came up with the necessary well executed shot, allowing them to win their first game, 9-3.

The next opponent proved to be more difficult, as the team was now pitted against Guelph. Playing on their home ice, Guelph held the Warriors to an event low two points scored. Unable to mount any kind of offence, the Warriors nevertheless gave their opponents a tight game, eventually losing 5-2.

The lone game of Friday was against Western University. The long delay between games seemed to affect the Warriors, as the team came out flat against the Mustangs. Never seeming like they were into the game, the Warriors were able to manage two points in the second end to keep up momentarily with their opponents, before allowing Western to score three in ends three and five, while only managing a single point in end four. The second score of three proved too much for the Warriors, who conceded defeat after five ends.

Saturday would prove to be much more favourable to the Warriors, as dominant play against McMaster in the first game, and Windsor in the second allowed for wins of 9-0 and 7-4 respectively. These wins allowed the Warriors to control their own playoff destiny going into Sunday's final round robin game against Wilfrid Laurier University. If the Warrior's won, they would be guaranteed at least a spot in tiebreaker games.

The Warriors appeared to stumble coming out of the gate, allowing WLU to take three points in the opening end. This was quickly countered after a miss by the opponent skip allowed the Warriors an opportunity to score four in the second end. After allowing another score of three in the third end, as well as a deuce in the fifth, with the Warrior's only able to respond with one point in the fourth, the team seemed to be in a deep hole playing the sixth end, down 8-5. An impressive rally from the team secured two points in the 6th, while holding WLU to 1 point in the 7th.

The critical two points necessary to force the extra end were scored in the 8th end. In the extra end, difficult decisions forced on the Warrior's by some excellent shot-making from their opponents ate away at their allotment of time for the extra end. With a chance to put WLU in a very difficult position for their last rock, the Warriors unfortunately ran out of time, and as they were unable to throw their own last stone, gave up three points and took a heartbreaking loss, ending their playoff hopes.
