Warriors Compete Strongly at Guelph Invitational

The Warriors curling teams took to the ice this weekend at the Guelph Invitational, competing over two action packed days. Both the men's and women's teams showcased skill and resilience, with the women's team capturing the tournament championship and the men navigating a tough round robin pool.

The Warriors women's team dominated their competition, going undefeated with a series of impressive wins. They started strong with a 6-3 victory over the Guelph Gryphons and maintained their momentum in a thrilling 8-7 match against the Trent Excalibur. The team continued their commanding play with a decisive 9-2 win against the Mohawk Mountaineers and a 10-5 victory over the York Lions. In the championship match, the Warriors faced off against the Laurier Golden Hawks. Once again, the Warriors controlled the game, sealing their undefeated weekend with a 6-3 win and capturing the tournament title.

The men's team opened with a promising 7-3 win over the Guelph Gryphons but encountered a challenging pool. They conceded their second match to the TMU Bold with a score of 7-3, followed by a close 8-5 loss against the Trent Excalibur. Their final round robin game resulted in a 7-3 concession to the Mohawk Mountaineers, reflecting the tough competition throughout the weekend. While the men's results didn't lead to a championship, their efforts highlighted the Warriors' tenacity and drive on the ice.

The Warriors curling teams are set to continue their season with these valuable experiences under their belts, carrying forward the momentum built by the women's undefeated championship and the men's grit against top opponents.
