Box Score The Warriors got themselves back into the win column topping the RMC Paladins 3-1 (25-20, 15-25, 25-23, 27-25) on Friday night in Kingston. The win improves Waterloo's record to 4-5 on the season while RMC dropped to 1-8.
Waterloo got a solid effort by rookie outside hitter
Alyson Colpitts (Fredericton) who tallied a game high 18 points on 13 kills, two service aces and three block. Also helping in the outside attack was
Claire Mackenzie (North Vancouver) who had eight kills while
Emily Ibbotson (Cambridge) provided the middle attack with seven kills. Ibbotson also had three blocks for the Warriors.
Emily Needles (Thorndale) and
Karly Smith (Lockport) shared setting duties and the two combined for 26 assists. Defensively,
Kristen Bartmann (Uxbridge) put on a show for the black and gold with a very impressive 33 digs in the match. Bartmann now sits in the second in the OUA with 147 digs in her 35 sets of action.
For RMC it was middle blocker Nicole Behnke providing most of the offence with her 14 kills while Kara Stephan had 11 from the outside. Setter Cassidy Chang finished the contest with 27 assists.
Waterloo will wrap up the calendar year tomorrow at Queen's looking to move to .500 before the break. The Gaels are also 4-5 on the season.
