Box Score The no. 7 ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees were simply too much to handle for the Waterloo women's volleyball team as they would fall in straight sets (12, 22, 12). Waterloo remains in the basement of the OUA west standings with a 2-11 record while Ottawa improved to 10-3, good for second spot in the east.
Natasha Spaling (Drayton) provided most of the Waterloo offence with five kills and one service ace while
Casey Clunas (Harriston) and
Sammie Gwozdz (Waterloo) each had four kills.
Emily Needles (Thorndale) finished the contest with 12 assists.
Ottawa's fourth year middle Alix Durivage was strong for the Gee-Gees tallying 11 points including three service aces. As a team, Ottawa landed 13 aces in the win. Myriam English was also strong for the home side, leading all players with 13.5 points.
Waterloo will be back in action Friday with their first home game of 2015 when they welcome the Windsor Lancers to the PAC for a 6pm tilt.
