Box Score The Warriors were in tough against the Windsor Lancers on Saturday afternoon as they were searching for their first win. The Lancers had 444 net yards rushing compared to the Warriors 108 while Nigel Applewhaite rushed for 166 yards and 2 touchdowns in the victory. The Lancers remain undefeated after a loss to Queen's was reversed earlier in this week. The Warriors have yet to find their first win.
Windsor opened the game with a sense of determination, running the ball often and putting pressure of the Warriors defensive line. The Lancers Tarrance Crawford opened the scoring on their first drive of the game with an 18-yard rushing touchdown to open the game 7-0. Windsor's Mark Carter would connect on a 33-yard pass from Austin Kennedy to push the score to 14-0 before the end of the quarter.
The Lancer's would continue to push the offensive in the second quarter when Scott McEwan made a 16-yard touchdown just 1:23 into the quarter. Nick Vincent and Dallas Boow would add majors along with a field goal from Anthony Malandruccolo before reaching half time. Lancers entered the break with a 38-0 lead.
The Warriors would come out of the break and continue to be pressured by the Lancer's strong running game. After a Malandruccolo field goal conversion, Warriors would add four points in way of safeties to get erase the goose egg. A big story of the game was total penalties as both teams were agitating each other often and combined for 32 penalties (304 yards) in the physical contest.
The Lancers would continue to shine as Applewhaite scored a 1-yard and 45-yard run respectively in back-to-back possessions to put the stamp on the game and move to 55-4 Lancers. Vincent would add his second TD of the game to close the game out 63-4.
