Box Score The Warriors did all they could do give their seniors a win in their final contest wearing the black and gold but would come up just short, falling to the Windsor Lancers in five sets.
Gillian Henderson (Ottawa/),
Mikaela Klie (/) and
Danielle Kamps (Vineland Station/) suited up for one final time with the Warriors and left it all out on the PAC court. The Warriors opened up the first two sets with tight victories (26-24, 25-23) but ran out of steam down the stretch at the Lancers won the next three set (25-18, 25-19, 15-10) to earn the victory.
The three seniors capped of their Waterloo careers in style with tremendous numbers. Kamps was outstanding with 15 kills on just 20 attempts and no errors while Henderson had 10 kills and 13 digs. Klie was solid as well collecting 45 assists and 21 digs in a losing effort. Up and coming star
Shannon Lodoen (Waterloo/) was also a factor on the offence with 10 kills.
For Windsor, it was a team effort with Emily McCloskey, Melissa Smyth and Shannon Dean each tallying 11 kills in the win.
The Warriors finish their season with a 5-14 record but have a lot to build on next year and with key pieces returning will look to climb their way back into the post-season picture.
