Warriors hot bats continue in sweep of Rams

Waterloo's hot bats continued on Sunday as the Warrior baseball team won their third straight game topping the Ryerson Rams 7-3.  The Warriors wasted little time jumping all over Ryerson's starting pitcher Mark Tari putting up four runs in the first inning.



Waterloo starting pitcher Adam Lentz (Calgary/) was solid going five innings giving up five hits and two runs while striking out a game high five batters.  Mitchell Kay (Kitchener/) closed out the game going two innings strong allowing only two hits while giving up three walks.



Chris Ryan (Waterloo/) led the Warriors with two hits while adding an rbi and one run scored.  Michael Clouthier (Guelph/) racked up three rbi's in the win while also going 2-for-3 at the plate.  Rounding out the offense was Chris Georges (Pickering/) and Ben Tinklin (Kitchener/) who each added two hits.

For the fourth straight game the Warriors put up at least seven runs to extend their winning streak to four with a 12-3 win over the Rams in the backend of their doubleheader at Jack Couch Park.  Waterloo fell behind 2-0 in the opening inning but scored six runs in the bottom half of the second and four more in the sixth to cruise to victory.



Chris Ryan (Waterloo/) continued to swing a hot bat in game two going 2-for-4 with one rbi.  James McCullough (Toronto/) was also a factor with three rbi's while Clouthier crossed the plate three times for the black and gold.



Ryne Weppler picked up the win going five innings giving up three runs on seven hits while striking out three.  Ben Tinklin (Kitchener/) did the rest in the final two innings allowing only one hit while sitting aside two Ryerson batters.  With the win the Warriors improved to 6-2 on the season.



The Warriors will look for their fifth straight win on Tuesday when they host the Western Mustangs at Jack Couch Park with the first pitch set for 7pm.
