The Waterloo Warriors traveled just down the street on Saturday afternoon and lost to the host Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks by a score of 84-75.
The opening quarter set the tone of Laurier three point shooting as they hit four from long range including a 3/4 court length bank shot by Max Allin at the buzzer. After the first quarter, Laurier led 23-11 and Will Coulthard had 11 points. The second quarter was played pretty even, with Laurier leading 45-34 at half time.
To start the second half, Waterloo chipped away at the lead, got it down to 2, watched Laurier extend it back to 8, and then Waterloo tied it at 53-53 late in the quarter. However a 9-2 run to end the quarter restored a 7 point lead for Laurier.
Laurier started the fourth like they ended the third, with a 13-2 run this time. By then the lead was 18 points and Waterloo could no longer catch up. They narrowed the gap to single digits, but the final score was 84-75 for Laurier
Will Coulthard led Laurier with 34 points, including a reported team record 8 three pointers. Maxwell Allin added 23 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists.

Kyrie Coleman (Washington/) in street clothes on the bench,
Jaspreet Gill (Oliver/) led the way with 22 points.
Denham Buchanan (Toronto/) had his second best output as a Warrior with 17 points.
Next game for Waterloo is Wed Feb 6 at they host the Western Mustangs. It's the last home game of the season, starting at 8:00pm at the PAC.
