Women's Curling

Women's curling recap from Brock Invitational

With the absence of regular skip Melissa Savage (Listowel/), the Warrior Women's curling team was truly breaking new ground with three curlers not only in their first year on the varsity team, but in their first year of university as well. In a league with so many experienced competitive curlers, it is tough to win games with a well-seasoned line-up, let alone one with relatively few games played together as a team.

Despite facing far more experienced foes, the women of Waterloo refused to be discouraged. Managing a win against Lakehead (Orillia Campus), as well as their ability to stick together in the face of adversity and provide many a tense moment for their other opponents from McMaster, UOIT, and Guelph, showed the character and heart of this Warrior squad.

Next up is the final tune-up before OUA provincials, where the Warriors will host a 1-day event in Guelph, Feb. 3.
