Box Score The Waterloo men's basketball team could not stick with the OUA west leading Windsor Lancers on Sunday afternoon as the home side took care of the Warriors 85-58 for their eighth win of the season.  The loss drops Waterloo's record to 1-10 on the season. 

Enrico Diloreto had a game-high of 18 points, leading the Lancers to victory while Wells Davis (Mississagua/) and Brendan Smith (Kamloops/Sa-Hali S.S.) each had 11 points for Waterloo.

After the visitors knocked down two straight three-pointers in the opening minute, the Lancers responded with 10 straight points to take an early lead. The scoring remained low through the first few minutes of the contest, and the Warriors grabbed back the advantage on a three-point play by Smith. Both defenses flexed their muscles throughout the quarter, and some shooting struggles on either ends of the court led to a low-scoring period, with Windsor holding a 15-14 lead after 10 minutes of play.

Some quick points from the home side to open the second prompted a timeout from Warriors coach Greg Francis. The Lancers continued to the full-court pressure, forcing turnovers from the visitors and spreading the lead to nine. A three from Josh Collins made the score 30-16 for Windsor, while the Warriors continued to struggle offensively, dropping just two points in the opening five minutes of the second.

A three from Zach Angelini (Hamilton/St. Thomas More) at the 2:50 mark snapped a pointless drought of over six minutes for the Warriors. However, they would go on to score just nine points in the period, allowing the Lancers to take a 44-23 lead into halftime. Enrico Diloreto tallied a half-high of 11 points, while Davis grabbed nine points to lead the Warriors.

The London, Ont. native picked up a long-ranger near the end of the third quarter to further extend Windsor's advantage, as the Lancers created a near 30 point deficit by the end of the period. Windsor stepped up their defence again in the final stanza, holding Waterloo to just two points midway through the fourth en route to their eighth win of the year.

Windsor shot 45.7% from the field, compared to 39.3% from Waterloo, and outrebounded the Warriors 46-32.

The Warriors return home to the PAC on Wednesday to face cross-town rivals, Laurier Golden Hawks (3-8) at 8pm, a game which can be seen live on SSN Canada.
