The Waterloo Warriors lost 4-3 to the York Lions on Saturday 24
th at the
Waterloo Tennis Club. The Lions took the doubles point when they won two of the three doubles matches. Each team won three singles which gave York the victory.
Vincent Chan (Markham/), lost for the first time in his varsity career 3-6, 3-6 to Mikhael Lew. Lew, a 26-year old player is a seasoned vet and former OUA standout. Back at school this year it was the first encounter between the two. It is likely not the last as if form holds they will face each other again in the OUA team championships. The Warriors #2

Ayaz Awadia (Cambridge/) and #6
Steven Nieboer (Waterloo/) won for Waterloo. Awadia again performed well winning his match in a tie-break in the third set.

Sunday, Sept. 25 vs. McMaster
McMaster 5, Waterloo 2
The Warriors lost their third straight match falling to McMaster on Sunday by a score of 2-5. The day started off badly with the doubles point lost when all three Waterloo pairs lost their matches, something which has not happened for a long time. In singles play, #1

Zubair Virjee (Calgary/) won their matches in convincing fashion and three others went the distance but no joy for the Warriors in any of them.
