Wednesday, Sept. 14 vs. Western
Waterloo 5, Western 4 (5 innings)

On Wednesday night the Warriors hosted the Western Mustangs and came away with a 5-4 victory in a rain shortened five inning game.  Western jumped out to an early lead with three runs in their half of the first inning, but the Warriors bounced right back with four runs of their own in their half of the first. 

The Warriors added one more run in the second, and in the third starter Anthony Douris (Newmarket/) got out of a bases loaded no out jam to hold the lead.  Douris earned the win on the mound, going five innings, allowing four earned runs on seven hits and he struck out five. 

As the rain began to fall hard, catcher Ben Tinklin (Kitchener/) threw out a runner stealing to end the inning and game as the field became unplayable.  Offensively, the Warriors were led by Craig Van Ooteghem (Kitchener/) who had two hits and an RBI and tinkling who had a hit and an RBI.  Daniel Baggio (Windsor/) and Branden Beattie also had RBI for the Warriors.

Saturday, Sept. 17 vs. Brock - Game 1
Waterloo 6, Brock 3

Waterloo stretched their winning streak to three games with a 6-3 win over Brock in game one of the double header.   Waterloo was trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth when they loaded the bases with no one out and Ben Tinklin (Kitchener/) hit a 1-1 pitch over the wall for a grand slam to put the Warriors up for good. 

Waterloo added a single run in the sixth and Brock added a run in the seventh to round out the scoring.  Tinklin led the way offensively with the home run and five RBI.  Mike Gatchene (Kitchener/) chipped in with two hits and an RBI.  Daniel Baggio (Windsor/) also had two hits on the day. 

Starter Brandon Beattie (St. Catharines/) earned the win, allowing two runs on five hits and he struck out three.  Rookie Kevin yeo pitched a clean sixth inning and Jay Flannigan (Cornwall/) allowed one run on two hits in the seventh.

Saturday, Sept. 17 vs. Brock – Game 2
Waterloo 8, Brock 7

Waterloo won their fourth straight with a come from behind 8-7 win over Brock to sweep the double header.  Starter Joel Smith (Chatham/) left in the fifth, trailing 6-2 allowing six runs on 11 hits in four and a third innings pitched. 

Trailing by four, the Warriors exploded for six runs in their half of the fifth inning to take the lead for good. Jay Flannigan (Cornwall/) led the way offensively with a hit and two RBI, while David Allen (Burlington/) added two hits and an RBI. 

Chris Georges (Pickering/). Craig Vanooteghem (Kitchener/) and Daniel Baggio (Windsor/) all added a hit and an rib and Ben Tinklin (Kitchener/) and Nolan Pettipiece (Burlington/) each added a hit each.  Anthony Douris (Newmarket/) came on in relief and picked up the win, allowing one run on two hits.  Dexter Chu (Mississauga/) pitched a clean seventh inning to earn the save.

Sunday, Sept. 18 @ McMaster – Game 1
Waterloo 13, McMaster 1

Waterloo earned their fifth straight win pounding out 14 hits in a 13-1 win over McMaster in game one of the double header.  Waterloo jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on a three run home run by Ben Tinklin (Kitchener/) in the first inning.    

Waterloo added four runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and sixth, and four more in the seventh to earn the victory. 

Tinklin led the way offensively with two hits, five RBI and three runs scored.  Mike Gatchene (Kitchener/) had four hits and an RBI, Nolan Pettipiece (Burlington/) and David Allen (Burlington/) each had two hits and an RBI. 

Starter Adam Lentz (Calgary/) earned his second win of the season, going six innings allowing one run on six hits and he struck out eight.  Johnathan Gbedemah (Guelph/) threw a clean seventh inning in his first appearance as a Warrior.

Sunday, Sept. 18 @ McMaster – Game 2
Waterloo 7, McMaster 2 (8 innings)

Waterloo made it six in a row with a 7-2 extra inning win over McMaster to sweep the double header and sweep the two weekend series'. 

Waterloo trailed 2-0 heading into the sixth, but scored two unearned runs on Mac errors to send the game to extra innings.  In the top of the eighth, the Warriors loaded the bases with no one out and Ronak Trivedi (Mississauga/)'s infield hit gave the Warriors the lead.  Ben Norris (Waterloo/) then hit a bases clearing double to extend the lead.  Greg Cohen (Toronto/) then hit a single scoring Norris to give the Warriors a five run eighth  to secure the vitory.

Norris led the way offensively with two hits and three RBI, while Nolan Pettipiece (Burlington/) added two hits.  Ben Tinklin (Kitchener/), Chris Georges (Pickering/) and David Allen (Burlington/) all had one hit for the Warriors. 

Waterloo used five pitchers in the game, with Jay Flannigan (Cornwall/) pitching the last two to earn his first win as a Warrior.  He allowed no runs on no hits and he struck out three.  Waterloo now sit at 8-2 on the season and host Toronto next Saturday for a double header.
