Waterloo earned their first win of the season Saturday with a 10-0 win over McMaster. Waterloo pounded out eight hits and were helped by McMaster's seven errors in securing the victory. Waterloo broke open a 1-0 game with six runs in the fourth inning and never looked back.
Nolan Pettipiece (Burlington/) led the way offensively with three hits, two rbi's and three runs scored.
Ben Tinklin (Kitchener/) and
Chris Georges (Pickering/) chipped in with a hit and two rbi's each. Dave Allen also had a hit and an rbi.
Starting pitcher
Brandon Beattie (St. Catharines/) was stellar on the mound in picking up the win. He went five innings giving up no runs on just two hits, two walks and striking out three. Rookie
Jay Flannigan (Cornwall/) threw one inning in relief allowing no runs and no hits while striking out two.
Waterloo 6, Queen's 3

Waterloo made it two wins in a row Saturday afternoon, defeating Queen's 6-3. Starter
Joel Smith (Chatham/) was the winner, going five innings allowing one run on six hits and striking out eight.
Ben Tinklin (Kitchener/) led the way offensively with two hits and an rbi, including a home run.
Drew Ballak (Kitchener/) and
Chris Georges (Pickering/) also chipped in with a hit and an rbi each. Waterloo scored two runs in the second, two in the third and one in both the fourth and fifth to lead 6-1 heading into the sixth.
Reliever
Kyle Loeppky (Regina/) pitched a clean sixth but ran into trouble in the seventh allowing two runs and a runner on third.
Ben Tinklin (Kitchener/) came on in relief of Loeppky and recorded the final two outs to earn the save.
Sunday, Sept. 11 vs. Toronto and Brock
Toronto 8, Waterloo 6
Game Stats
Waterloo dropped an 8-6 decision to Toronto on Sunday morning to even their record at two wins and two loses. The Warriors were not on their game against Toronto as sloppy defense found Waterloo down 4-0 after two and 7-2 after three innings.
Starter Mike Gatchne took the loss, allowing eight runs on eight hits but didn't get any help from his defense as the Warriors made four errors. Waterloo battled back to make the score 8-6 in the top of the seventh and had the bases loaded with two out but
Nolan Pettipiece (Burlington/) flew out to end the rally. Pettipiece and Tinklin each had two hits and two rib's in a losing effort.
Waterloo improved their record to 3-2 Sunday afternoon with a convincing 9-1 win over the defending OUA champions Brock Badgers.
The Warriors broke open a 0-0 game in the fifth with an eight run outburst and never looked back.
Lee Mathe (Milton/) led the way with a hit and two rbi's while
Ronak Trivedi (Mississauga/) had two hits and an rbi.

Craig Vanooteghem (Kitchener/) all had a hit and scored a run.
Starter
Adam Lentz (Calgary/) was brilliant, going six innings allowing no runs on four hits and he struck out four earning the win. He was helped by solid defense as the Warriors played error free.
Dexter Chu (Mississauga/) allowed one run on one hit in one inning of relief.
The Warriors host Western on Wednesday night at Jack Couch Park in Kitchener at 7pm. The Warriors then host Brock for a double header on Saturday September 17 and travel to McMaster for a double header on Sunday September 18 at Nelson Park in Burlington.
