The Waterloo women's volleyball team lost a tight battle to the Windsor Lancers in straight sets on Saturday night to close out the 2011 calendar year. Set scores were 29-27, 28-26 and 25-21.
Since coming out of the gate with three straight wins, the Warriors have dropped their last five and sit four points out of a playoff spot with six points. The Lancers picked up their second win of the season and are now 2-9
Windsor was led by Kaila Seguin with 18 kills, Jessica Shepley with 29 assists, and Chelsey Drouillard with 13 digs.
Team leaders for the Warriors were
Danielle Kamps (Vineland Station/) with 13 kills,
Kayla Ng (London/) with 27 assists, and
Katie Spack (Ottawa/) with 13 digs.
The Warriors will now enjoy a month off before a busy 2012 kicks off on January 7 when Waterloo travels to Kingston for a pair of weekend matches against RMC and Queen's.
