Game Summary
The Waterloo Warriors opened up their 2011-12 season on the road against the Windsor Lancers falling by a score of 5-1.
It was all Lancers early and often as the blue and yellow peppered rookie goalie
Rebecca Bouwhuis (Orillia/) from start to finish. Despite letting in five goals, Bouwhuis was the story of the game making 41 saves on the afternoon.
Lancer's rookie forward Alyssa Baldin (Windsor, Ont.) lit up the scoreboard on Saturday scoring four of the Lancers five goals, including two in the final period and one on the power play.
The Lancers held a 4-0 lead in the third period before the Warriors were able to get one past Lancer goaltender Kasey Martin (Chatham, Ont.).
Julia Endicott (Toronto/) scored the lone goal for the black and gold with assists going to
Ona Mezenberg (Owen Sound/) and
Lindsey Ceaser (Owen Sound/).
The Warriors looked to rebound on Sunday as they faced the Western Mustangs.

Game Summary
The Waterloo women's hockey team played their second game in as many days on Sunday afternoon in London coming away with their first win of the season blanking the Western Mustangs 2-0. First year head coach
Shaun Reagan earned his first win behind the bench with the black and gold.
The Mustangs came out firing in the first period only to have their chances foiled by rookie netminder
Rebecca Bouwhuis (Orillia/) stopping all 10 first period shots. Late in the frame the Warriors would take the lead on the power play with
Ona Mezenberg (Owen Sound/) scoring her first goal of the year (second point of the weekend) with assists going to
Emma McMillan (Hastings/) and
Julia Endicott (Toronto/).
Waterloo wasted little time adding to their late early in the second as
Kate Wagner (Sauble Beach/) would put Waterloo up by two goals only 20 seconds into the period with a seeing-eye shot from the point which eluded Mustangs goalie Alison Li (Richmond, B.C.). Ceaser would pick up her second assist of the weekend on the goal.
Heading into the third period up by two, Waterloo showed their defensive posture and with some timely saves by Bouwhuis the Warriors cruised to the shutout victory. Bouwhuis made 27 saves for the shoutout while Li stopped 25 of 27 shots faced.
Next up for the Warriors is their home opener of their 10
th season as they face the newest team of the OUA, Ryerson Rams on Saturday, October 15. Puck drop is set for 2pm and the game can be seen live on the
