Waterloo won their fifth straight game defeating the winless RMC Paladins by the slimmest of margins 4-3 on Friday night in Kingston, Ont.  The Warriors scored four consecutive goals in a span of eight minutes and held on to win their 10th game of the season.

The Paladins opened the scoring four minutes into the game as the top two scorers on the RMC roster connected to put their team up by one.  Richard Lim (Calgary, Alta.), put his fifth goal of the season behind Warrior netminder Justin Leclerc (Saskatoon, Sask.) off a nice pass from Patrick Pinder (Calgary, Alta.) who leads the team with 16 points (10g, 6a).

Waterloo responded late in the first period with Kirt Hill (Winnipeg, Man.) scoring his fourth goal of the season shorthanded.  Before the period was up, the Warriors would take the lead on the powerplay as Josh Schappert (Winnipeg, Man.) would snipe his eighth of the year to put the black and gold up by one heading into the second period.

Steve Whitely (Petrolia, Ont.) and Kurt Thorner (St. Thomas, Ont.) would continue the offensive burst for Waterloo scoring 36 seconds apart to give Waterloo a comfortable 4-1 lead.  Chris Ray (Kelowna, B.C.) would extend his point streak to 10 games picking up an assist on the Whitely goal.

The Warriors would sit back on their lead a little too early as RMC would fight back and score two third period goals with Landon Lavictoire (Kirkland Lake, Ont.) and Justin Lacey (Sudbury, Ont.) scoring to put their Paladins back in the game, but Leclerc would come up big to stop their comeback efforts and preserve the win for the Warriors.

Leclerc stopped 25 of 28 shots for his fourth win of the season while Paladins goalie Andrew Flemming let in four goals on 21 shots faced.

Waterloo look to keep their win streak alive as they face the Queen's Gaels tomorrow night to wrap up their interlock play.
