Warriors fall in straight sets to Brock Badgers

The Waterloo Warriors continued their up and down season as they fell in straight seasons to the Brock Badgers on Sunday afternoon in St. Catharines.  Waterloo fell to 2-3 on the season while Brock won their fifth straight and now sit at 5-2.

Set scores were: 25-11, 25-21 and 25-14.

Waterloo added just 25 kills as a team, led by Meaghan Loveday (Kitchener, Ont.) who collected five kills and seven digs. Joanna Meltzer (Georgetown, Ont.), Travis Hendry (Toronto, Ont.) and Laura Klein (Kitchener, Ont.) all added four kills each in the loss.  

Leading the Badgers offense was senior Shannon Anderson (Newmarket, Ont.) who recorded a game high 15 kills with an .500 hitting percentage making just one error on 28 attempts. Junior Rachel Roorda (St. George, Ont.) contributed with eight kills including four kills on four attempts in game three. Senior Katelyn Giesbrecht (Virgil, Ont.) rounded out the Brock leaders adding six kills, eight digs and two block solos in the victory.

The Warriors return home next weekend as they host the winless Windsor Lancers (0-4) on Friday evening followed by a meeting with the 2-2 Western Mustangs on Saturday evening.  Both games are set for 8:00 pm at the PAC Gymnasium.
