It didn’t take long for rookie Evan Morrison (Sebringville, Ont.) to establish himself as one of the top players in the OUA, both on the mound and at the plate. In Waterloo’s opening day game, Morrison pitched six shutout innings, allowing just three hits, one walk while striking out eight for his first OUA win as the Warriors defeated Ryerson 9-2.  

Morrison also played an exceptional second base in Waterloo’s next three games while going an astounding .556 at the plate with two doubles, three singles, six RBIs, three runs scored and two stolen bases. Morrison delivered a clutch two-run double with the bases loaded in Game 1 vs. McMaster on Sunday to lead Waterloo to a 4-2 win and followed that up with a bases clearing double in Game 2 to lead the black and gold to a big 11-1 win as Waterloo went 3-1 in the opening weekend of OUA action.
