Sian Smart (Kingston, Jamaica) had a great meet at the York Open on the weekend earning two personal bests and one season’s best.  Smart cruised through the 60m heats with a time of 7.71s to earn a spot in the final where she knocked down her time to 7.69s to earn a bronze medal behind some of the nation’s best runners.  Smart’s time of 7.69s ranks her seventh in the CIS and fourth all-time at UW.  Smart capped off her great day with season’s best result in the long jump with a distance of 5.41m to earn fifth place.
