Rookie sensation Stephanie Sluys stole the show once again this weekend leading Waterloo to a pair of crucial victories, stopping 55 of 57 shots faced while picking up her CIS leading seventh shutout.  In Waterloo’s 3-2 shootout win over UOIT on Saturday, Sluys was unbeatable down the stretch including seven stops in overtime and three more in the shootout. On Sunday, Waterloo got another stellar performance by Sluys who turned aside all 26 shots fired by Queen’s as the Warriors skated away with the 2-0 win.  Sluys sits tied for third in both save percentage (.942) and GAA (1.44) and appears to be the front runner for both OUA and CIS rookie of the year.
