Chris Lawson enters his third year as Associate Coach of both the men’s and women’s volleyball programs. Lawson spent nine years as the head coach of the men’s team prior to that.
Lawson guided the men's program to five straight OUA final fours and two straight National (U SPORTS) Championships.
Lawson accumulated a 109-71 regular season record and led Waterloo to the OUA playoffs every year he was at the helm.
Lawson brings a solid background of coaching volleyball on several levels. He has over 15 years coaching experience with OVA and club teams, 20 years coaching senior high school (men’s and women’s), and over 25 years of volleyball camp leadership. Lawson has also coached with the Team Canada – Youth program, Team Ontario Men, and the Ontario Summer Games team for several years.
Lawson is an NCCP Level III coach and a very active Learning Facilitator conducting coaching certification courses throughout the province. Chris has received numerous high school and provincial coaching awards in his career and was named OUA Coach of the Year for the 2013-14 season.
