Shaun Reagan enters his 14th season as head coach of the women's hockey program. Over the past 13 seasons, Reagan has led the Warriors to a 161-107-31 record while guiding Waterloo to the post-season eight of the last nine seasons. Last year the Warriors finished with a 24-12-1 record, claiming top spot in the OUA McCaw Cup Championship for the first time in program history.
Reagan is a two-time OUA coach of the year, claiming the accolade in 2011 and 2022. In 2017, Reagan was named the assistant coach of Team Canada at the 2017 FISU World University Games in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Reagan was unable to attend the event due to the birth of his daughter Callie.
Reagan has a wealth of women's hockey experience and knowledge and is Hockey Canada HP1 certified. In 2008, Reagan was named the first-ever head coach of the Kitchener-Waterloo (KW) Rangers of the Provincial Women's Hockey League (PWHL). The PWHL is the most competitive league available to young women striving to further their athletic future while obtaining a post-secondary education. In 2010-11 Reagan guided the Rangers to a 19-12-5 record and a quarter-final berth in the PWHL playoffs.
The lifelong resident of Waterloo gained valuable experience coaching the Rangers wearing many hats for the organization. Reagan was responsible for player recruitment and attracting the top players in the province. Additionally, he played an integral role between his players and the University recruitment process which has given him an edge in recruiting top players to the Warriors. Finally, Reagan has a strong sense of developing community support and school spirit for the program.
On top of his KW Rangers experience, Reagan has been an assistant coach for the Kitchener Dutchmen of the Midwestern Junior B hockey league and a head coach of several Waterloo Ravens women's hockey teams. He also won the bronze medal as part of the team Ontario coaching staff at the National Women’s U-18 Championship in Dawson Creek, BC (Nov. 7-12, 2012).
Adding to his already impressive resume, Reagan had an illustrious playing career in Canadian University Sport (CIS) and the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Reagan played three seasons for cross-town rival Laurier Golden Hawks and four seasons with two different teams in the OHL.
