Kate McCrae-Bristol, daughter of former Director of Athletics Judy McCrae, enters her second year as assistant coach and brings a wealth of basketball experience as both a coach and a player and continues to be an extremely valued addition to the coaching staff.

McCrae-Bristol's father Don McCrae was also an iconic figure of the Warriors, coaching the men's basketball team to eight national tournaments, four championship games, and one championship title in 1975.

McCrae-Bristol played five seasons for the Warriors from 2000 to 2005, three of those years as captain, and was the OUA Joy Bellinger Award winner presented to an individual who excels in athletics, academics, and community involvement.

Following her playing career, McCrae-Bristol was a program manager for the PeacePlayers International squad in Belfast, Northern Ireland before joining the Yale University Bulldogs as an assistant coach in 2007.

McCrae-Bristol then returned home to Waterloo and was an assistant coach of the Warriors for the 2008-09 season and then Laurier Golden Hawks from 2013-15.  She is currently the Manager of Student Experience in the Student Success Office at UWaterloo and is thrilled to take on the role and work with a young and upcoming Warriors program.
