University of Waterloo Athletics

Jon Orrett is entering his fifth season as an assistant coach for the University of Waterloo men’s volleyball team.
  
He has also been involved with Team Ontario since 2019. He is currently coaching with 18u Team Ontario Elite. This past summer he was a head coach with the 16u Team Ontario Boys program and a guest coach with Ontario’s 19u Canada Games team. 

Prior to Waterloo, he was an assistant coach for the Kitchener-Waterloo Predators from 2016-2018. During those two seasons he was a silver and bronze medal winner provincially, as well as a bronze and 5th place finisher nationally. He produced multiple provincial team members and all-stars, as well as a national all-star and member of Canada’s U18 National team. Ten of his players went on to play post-secondary volleyball including two in Volleyball Canada's National Excellence Program.

In 2016 he was an assistant coach for Region 4’s 14u Boys team that competed at the Ontario Summer Games. The season prior he was the assistant coach of Durham Attack’s 14u Boys team. They finished 5th at provincials and qualified for the US Open Volleyball Championships. He is a Certified NCCP Advanced Development Coach (Level 2).
