University of Waterloo Athletics

Dave Schlitt enters his eighth season with the University of Waterloo Warriors Men’s Hockey program as the team’s Recruiting Coordinator and will assist Head Coach Brian Bourque in identifying, scouting and recruiting potential student-athletes to the Warriors hockey program.

In addition to his duties with the Warriors, Dave is also the Director of Operations for Alliance Hockey’s Under-16 Program of Excellence.

Dave has twenty seasons of minor hockey coaching experience, including thirteen seasons as a Head Coach of various AA and AAA teams in the Waterloo Minor Hockey Association (1996 – 2009) and seven seasons as a Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the Huron-Perth Lakers Minor and Major Midget AAA teams (2009-2016).

Dave holds his Advanced 1 coaching certification in the Hockey Canada/NCCP coaching program and is highly involved in coaching and player development programs with Alliance Hockey and the Ontario Hockey Federation.  Dave is currently a Coaching Certification Clinic Facilitator with the Alliance and has been an Evaluator and Coach with the Alliance’s Under-17 Program of Excellence selection camp (2003 – 2012) and an Assistant Coach (2010) and Head Coach (2013) with the Alliance’s Under-16 program.  Dave was also an Assistant Coach of the Team Ontario Under-16 Men’s Hockey Team (2015 Canada Winter Games).

Dave graduated from Carleton University in 1989 with his Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator. 

Dave is a native of St. Jacobs, Ontario and currently resides in Stratford.
