Brendan Conway enters his 9th year with the football staff and his second year as sole offensive coordinator offensive coordinator, and 1st year as Quarterbacks Coach, as well as an elevated role with Recruiting Coordination. In 2022, Conway was co-offensive coordinator with Head Coach Chris Bertoia, while also being the Wide Receivers coach & Special Teams Coordinator in that season. Before that, coach Conway spent five seasons as Waterloo’s special teams coordinator & Linebackers coach from 2017-2021, while coaching Linebackers in 2016. Conway’s passion for the Black & Gold always shines through, willing & able to take on any role for the team. Conway played for the Warriors from 2011-2015, and was in the top 10 all-time in tackles by a Warrior when he graduated (he’s since been passed by a few of his star pupils in the all-time tackles list).

Coach Conway demonstrated a passion for coaching while he was still a player. Hebegan coaching as a positional coach with the Burlington Stampeders for two years while he was a student-athlete at Waterloo. Conway then joined the Waterloo Region Predators for 8 years, where he carried multiple coaching roles, including Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, Head Coach, Linebackers Coach, and 4 years as the Coaching Director for The Predators. Â He now watches and supports as needed with the Waterloo Jr Warriors, seeing many former players & coaches of his still involved and succeeding with the program.

 Conway has been working with the U Sports East-West Bowl since 2017; once as the Running Backs Coach in 2023, 3 times as Special teams Coordinator in 2017, 2018, & 2019, once as the Defensive Coordinator in 2022, and finally was the Offensive Coordinator in the most recent 2024 East West Bowl, hosted right here at the University of Waterloo. Additionally, Conway has also been involved with the OFA and Team Ontario Football. He has twice been a part of the International Bowl in Dallas, Texas, where he served as the Linebackers Coach for the u16 team in 2017, and as the Special Teams Coordinator in 2019 for the u18. He has also been on the staff for the u16 East Challenge from 2017-present, where for 2 seasons he was the Special Teams Coordinator and just finished his 2nd season as the Defensive Coordinator, obtaining 3 Silvers and a Bronze in his time.
