Softball is a bat/ball sport similar to baseball however it is played on a smaller field, with a larger ball. Typical softball games are 7 innings long with the objective to score more runs than the opposing team, each team is given an opportunity to score in each inning. Softball at Waterloo practices during the fall and winter term, and in addition to the open club there are opportunities to play exhibition games in the local Waterloo community, as well as against other Softball programs at other Ontario Universities. The version of softball played in the club is “fastpitch”.
All clubs memberships require a prerequisite base athletics membership. Currently enrolled, on-campus students already have this prerequisite membership during the Fall and Winter semesters. For all other community participants and students attending classes in the summer months, a monthly base membership is required for purchase before enrolling into a club.
