The University of Waterloo Equestrian Team competes on the Ontario Collegiate Equestrian Association circuit (ontariocea.com). The OCEA is a student-run group that allows university students from all over Ontario to compete in hunter equitation classes on unfamiliar horses.
To take part in the club riders will need prior riding experience and will need to try out. Riders are expected to come to team workouts and take regular riding lessons. Riders can take riding lessons with the team at Findaway Equestrian (findawayequestrian.com) or take lessons with their own coach.
In addition to competing, the team also organizes social events and activities throughout the year. Activities typically include visiting the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, taking part in riding clinics, and other social gatherings.
If you have any questions about the team please email us. Tryouts typically occur the first or second weekend of September each year so if you are interested in trying out please email us in August.
