The 2025 challenge officially begins on Thursday, May 1st at 12:01 EDT and ends on Thursday, May 15th at 11:59 PM EDT.

Through the generosity of Laura Sylvah, Manager of Therapy Services and Eric Celentano (BSc ’79), there will be cash prizes for the teams who successfully reach their challenge goal. There are four ways for teams to receive this additional funding:

• The team to receive the most donors at the end of the challenge will score $1,000 in additional funds to support their program.
• The team to receive the most dollars raised at the end of the challenge will score $1,000 in additional funds to support their program.
• Each team to reach their donor goal will automatically receive $250 in additional funds to support their program.
• All teams who reach their donor goal will be entered into a random draw where one team will receive an additional $500 to support their program.

To ensure equity across all programs, team goals have been set relative to their official OUA Championship roster.

Yes, you can donate to multiple teams. On the first step of the donation form, under “Choose your Warriors team” click “Select multiple teams” to donate to more than one varsity program at one time. Your gift will be counted towards each team’s leaderboard tally.

Anyone can donate! Whether you are a current or former varsity student-athlete, University of Waterloo alum, parent or other family member of a current student or student-athlete, friend, or fan – all are welcome. Every donor counts!

Only new one-time donations using unique email addresses received between Thursday, May 1st at 12:01 EDT and Thursday, May 19th at 11:59 PM EDT will count towards team goals. 

Only gifts received through the designated donation page (gowarriorsgo.ca/varsitygiving) will be counted on the leaderboards. The leaderboards are unofficial results. Final results will be tallied once the challenge closes and shared on social and by email.

Gifts made by phone or by mail will not count towards the goals.

Only one donation per person, per team, will be counted at the end of the challenge. If you make multiple donations to the same team, while the leaderboard may update immediately and count the second and subsequent donations, the official results will count multiple donations to the same team from the same person as 1.

The leaderboard will be updated daily as gifts are processed and multiple donations from the same person will be removed from the leaderboard tally at the discretion of the Gifts Processing office and the Athletics Advancement team.

A minimum donation of $10.00 has been set, both for the one-time donation challenge and the monthly giving challenge. There is no maximum donation limit.

All gifts made through the donation website will receive a tax receipt for the full value of the gift.

 Tax receipts are issued through a confirmation email after your gift has been made. Scroll to the bottom of your donation confirmation email and click the link to download a PDF of your tax receipt. If you do not receive this email within 48 hours, check your junk/spam folder. If you have trouble downloading the PDF, please reply to the email for assistance.
