Job Summary:

Reporting to the Coordinator, Recreational Sport or their designate, they will teach Learn to Skate and Learn to Figure Skating sessions. Instructors are responsible for leading high-quality classes that are fun and engaging for all participants. They will interact regularly with the campus population, including other facility staff as well as other full-time student and permanent staff. Skating Instructors are expected to act as an ambassador for all Warrior Recreation programming both while working and throughout the entirety of their term.

This is a casual part-time 3-month contract working each academic term. Primary shift responsibility will be evenings with the option of some weekend work if needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrive 10 minutes early and prepared for all scheduled shifts
  • Teach assigned classes for the entire term
  • Always maintain an appropriate professional demeanor
  • Act as an ambassador for Warrior Recreation
  • Attend required training sessions and demonstrate proficiency in understanding of departmental policies and procedures
  • Check in all participants before each session

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Multiple years of experience teaching skating classes
  • Instructor certification (preferred)
  • Standard First Aid with CPR (preferred)
